Isabel blows on....

(Note: this post should have been accompanied by an icon made from the picture I saw the other day of a sign that said "Blow me, Isabel" in big red letters. Unfortunately, although I spent most of my work day yesterday hunting for that picture, I couldn't find it again, so instead, Captain Jack Sparrow in honor of Speak Like A Pirate Day.)

A brief check-in to note that [livejournal.com profile] lanning and I survived the hurricane with nothing worse than some annoying power flickers and the cable going out. At least Verizon seems to be holding their own through the storm, judging from both the fact that my DSL still works and the six phone calls from my mother in the last 24 hours.

My sympathies to [livejournal.com profile] minnaleigh, [livejournal.com profile] meeby, [livejournal.com profile] ndannais and everyone else who lost power last night. 1.5 million households just in the DC Metro area, was it? Plus, like, most of the rest of the state of Virginia.

Oh, and according to [livejournal.com profile] kris4n6 the Harbor Tunnel is *completely* underwater.

Blow, Isabel, blow.

Glad you're all right, and still power-ful.

(And psst. It's [livejournal.com profile] minnaleigh.)

D'oh. Fixed it.

Someday I'll stop mixing up people's AIM names with their LJ names. Though that day will obviously not be today.

Wouldn't bet on tomorrow, either. *g*

Totally under water! Can you believe it?! *g*
