Wow. I heard the movie sucked - but this story rocked! I have rarely seen a modern AU fic for Merlin that really had Arthur in a role where he could save Britain, and even though you didn't bring in the reincarnation theme, or anything, this still felt like the best example of a "Once and Future King" story that I have ever read.

You captured Merlin's devotion to the common person as well as Arthur's nobility, and even Uther's! Morgana was wonderful, and even the bit players were excellent.

This is a truly wonderful movie adaptation!
