I love that you felt the "Once and Future King" vibe from Arthur in this (though yeah, not meant to be reincarnation at all, as I tend to think of AUs and reincarnation stories as being very separate things). Because I was scattering Arthurian names all over the place, I deliberately tried to stay away from any mention of the legend--except for one teensy nod to it near the end.
