Hee!

My desk is just about covered in flowers. Each of my coworkers brought in a handful from their gardens (though several apparently have gardens at Safeway) to put into one big vase. Except that now it's expanded to two vases and a plastic Coke bottle sawed in half.

Of course, now my throat is closing up and I can't really feel most of my head. But my desk is really pretty. Still, the people who brought me chocolate instead of flowers are getting the most favors this week.

And yes, I know it's a manufactured commercial holiday. But I'm enjoying the manufactured commercial love, 'cause I'm just that easy. Administrative Professionals Day only comes once a year, y'know.

Heh. I didn't know about it, so I didn't remind my bosses about it, so I get bupkis. Ah, well. And I'm not even allergic to flowers.

Oh, that's nice of them!

I always loved this day when I was working because it was one day when people let you know that they did appreciate you.

Happy Day :)

Yeah, I got flowers, and they're taking me to lunch next week.

And the other Admin on this side of the floor is bitching because her people didn't get her anything.

::snicker::

:-( Bummer. I can sympathize -- the last two bosses I had never did anything for me, not even an e-card. And I know for a fact that the last one knew about it, because our EVP always sent around a reminder early in the week.

*sends serene a bunch of pretty flowers*

[identity profile] marzilla.livejournal.com 2003-04-23 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. :-) It does give me a nice little glow that they thought of me, and went to a lot of trouble to plan this. Very sweet. Now I don't mind the slavedriving so much, which I suppose is the point. *g*

Aw, thanks! My bosses are actually very nice to me. They buy me things and take me out and give me excellent xmas presents. I just didn't know about today. Still, I'll take the flowers, gratefully. :-)

Hee! Yeah, I did a little round of the floor this morning, and none of the other Admins have much from their people. I take a ridiculous amount of petty satisfaction from this.

[identity profile] marzilla.livejournal.com 2003-04-23 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, good. Glad they aren't just neglectful. We just need to drum up some more publicity for the day, get the industry going. *g*

[identity profile] serenejournal.livejournal.com 2003-04-23 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. Hallmark is just gonna *love* you.

[identity profile] marzilla.livejournal.com 2003-04-23 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, no Hallmark for me, thanks. I want *good* stuff. If you didn't shop at Godiva (or Barnes & Noble), you don't come near my desk! *g*

Heee! Well, you don't mind it today...

Are they going to bring more flowers next week, too?

;)

[identity profile] marzilla.livejournal.com 2003-04-23 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, man, I hope not! Or I'll never breathe again. *g*

*eg*

Right there with you on the petty satisfaction. Somehow that makes it sweeter.

Yup!!

Got a card this morning. I didn't tell them about it, but maybe they saw it on the news or something. ;-)

I'm liking the inscriptions a lot:

"Thanks for everything you do here! I wouldn't want to have to figure out all the things you just seem to know. Please don't ever leave!"

"Thanks for all you do to make it run so smooth here!"

"Thanks for all you do. This office would be total chaos without you!"
