Well, okay, then!

In my *mumblety* years in slash fandom, I've encountered very, very few online services that didn't just tolerate us, but actively welcomed, understood, and appreciated our community.

Hello, Pinboard: The Fans Are All Right.

I was going to hold off on moving all my bookmarks until I saw whether Delicious was going to get itself together, but screw that. I'm moving to Pinboard.

ETA: When I first posted this, I had forgotten that Pinboard charges a one-time set-up fee, which is just under $10. Obviously not everybody can justify that in their budgets these days. However, fandom being fandom, there's already a lively swapmeet going over on the fannish Pinboard comm where many people are offering to gift Pinboard accounts to fellow fans, either gratis or in exchange for small fannish services.

His blog post vibe of "I'm not really part of this fandom thing but hey, you guys are pretty cool" is such a rarity <3 The only other time I've gotten warm fuzzies over something like that was when the NYT street fashion photographer did a little video on cosplayers at NYAF last year.

I got an account, still need to figure out if I can get my bookmarks back in the order they used to be in and how the in-browser bookmarking works but so far, very happy with it :)

If you used to use a delicious extension in your browser to bookmark, someone's reviewed all the pinboard extensions/add-ons that do the same thing.
