I've seen a number of virtual seasons start up in various fandoms over the years, and almost all of them failed because it's such a considerable undertaking. However, I think a general continuation/fix-it fest would be a fantastic idea! I guess we can see what the exact theme should be when we know exactly what we're dealing with after the finale....
