corilannam: (House!)

Mardi Gras Randomosity, having nothing to do with Mardi Gras at all

...except that after reading my flist this morning, I'm in a serious mood for beignets and some jumbalaya.

A few random things --

1) I finished the last Coldfire book on the bus this morning.  *meep*  I think I scared some small children, but they were getting off the bus anyway.  I will post some semi-coherent thoughts on the books and the ending as soon as I finish uploading my new WTF? icon, which I will need for the purpose.  Then I will go read the fanfic, because I neeeeeed it.

2) [livejournal.com profile] gloriana, hopefully you got my e-mail, but just in case,  you'll have the story back by the end of the day.

3)  There is a box of Krispy Kreme donuts next to my desk again today.  I don't know if I can do this two days in a row.

4)  eeeeeeeee!  New House tonight!   And I will probably need it after the TAR finale.

Mmm, more Coldfire talk. This will be good. (And this reminds me, I still need to go and read torch's new Coldfire story!)

Also: HOUSE! Need more House! *g*

HOUSE!

I'm all antsy to go and read the stories from yuletide, but I'm forcing myself to wait until I actually comment on the canon so that I don't get all mixed up. *g*

[identity profile] movies-michelle.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)

Probably a good idea to get the comments on canon done before reading fanfic. I do that. And canon characterization is...complex. *g*

Ooooh, very nice House-and-Wilson icon you have. (House!) (It really does sound like some sort of strange mating call after a while.)

[identity profile] corilannam.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Complex is one word for it, yeah. *g*

And thanks! I like your House-and-Wilson icon, too. There just can't be too much of those two.

And now I'm picturing a lone fan in the wilderness, wandering around going "House! House!" And slowly more fans emerge, all crying "House! House!" until finally there's a whole herd of House fans happily chirping at each other.

Boy, fandom's a weird place, huh? Or maybe it's just us. *g*

Okay, that icon? FREAKING adorable. *g*

And thanks! I like your House-and-Wilson icon, too. There just can't be too much of those two.

There really can't. And since it looks like they're adding more and more Wilson each week, it's become the "T-minus 7 hours to House/Wilson" countdown. *g*

And now I'm picturing a lone fan in the wilderness, wandering around going "House! House!" And slowly more fans emerge, all crying "House! House!" until finally there's a whole herd of House fans happily chirping at each other.

Actually, I tend to hear it like a howl. "Hooooooouuuuuuuse!" Much baying at the moon and limping. *g*

I forget, are you coming to Escapade? We must have a House get together with those of us who are. (I keep resisting the urge to use the phrase "House party" with limited success.)

(and this message might reach you twice, since lj is obviously being as reliable as my email)

Hiya. I didn't get your email, but I think that's my domain server screwing up rather than anything else. But thankyou - the story back today is great :) Just in case I am still throwing wobblies, please email it to gloriana.regina@virgin.net ? Sigh - this domain thing is beginning to be tedious...

I also said that I thought two days of Krispy Kreme donuts counted as unnatural torture (as opposed to one day, which is natural torture); and that I saw my very firstest episode of House the other day, and was quite bemused at Laurie's transformation. My hubby watched it too, and just couldn't recognise him, though I got him from a side face view within 60 seconds :)

Yes, Hugh Laurie is quite different in this, isn't he? One of my favorite moments is when he's on the phone pretending to be calling someone from London -- a British actor pretending to be an American pretending to be British, and damn if he doesn't pull it off. My head almost turned inside out. *g*

And I'll just copy the story to all the addresses I have for you guys again. It'll get there eventually!

Just one last note that I just sent off the story to both you and the brown bird, to all four e-mails I have for you. If it doesn't get there, let me know and I'll upload it somewhere for you or something.

A friend has been trying to pimp me on Coldfire. I keep hearing great things. I sense being sucked in already. And House as well. I'm going to have to ditch TAR to watch it, but after this season of TAR and the casting releases for next season, that doesn't look to be a loss. *sigh*

[identity profile] corilannam.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Coldfire is a long read, but definitely worth it -- at least if it hits your buttons the way it hits mine. *g* And you have to watch House, of course, because it's House! Though I'm actually really looking forward to next season's TAR. Everyone's all in a tizzy about Rob and Amber, but I love them and think they'll be great Racers.

But in the meantime, watch House. *g*

Oh, I'm cool with Rob and Amber, but I'd rather see someone who didn't win a million dollars already win. Seeing millionaires race just takes the punch out of it. But I do agree, they'll be great racers. :)

So looking forward to House!

Who's that in your icon?

[identity profile] corilannam.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's true, though I always forget that there's a million dollars at stake. *g*

My icon -- that's House in the background, and in the foreground is Wilson, House's best friend (and slash interest, of course). Wilson is head of the Oncology Department, but you wouldn't know it since he spends most of his time hanging around House. *g*
