Probably the reason Merlin isn't coming back for another series. They want to do their own thing - so they made it impossible for BBC to carry on with Merlin. Bastards.

Yes, because God forbid they should let someone else take over and maybe do a better job. Or maybe no one else wanted it after they wrote themselves into so many corners.

I just wish they weren't taking Merlin with them. It could do great things in other hands. :(

[edit] - wait, they're not taking Merlin with them, sorry I read it wrong. Well, that's something - at least they wouldn't be involved with any spin-offs. Not that there's likely to be any, but. *clutches at straws*

No, from everything I'm reading, it sounds like the cast is well and truly done with Merlin, and I can't blame them. I'll still hold out a smidgen of hope for a movie at some point with different writers, but I guess that'll depend on where they leave the series finale.
