Applesauce

I have apples I need to use up. Anyone have any exceptionally awesome applesauce recipes?

Put a little water in the bottom of the sauce pan. Cut up apples into small chunks, leaving the skin on. For every 3 or 4 apples (depending on how big they are) add 1/4 cup of cinnamon heart candies. Cook until the apples are mush and you've gotten it to the consistency you like.

<---- basically.

although I usually substitute the water for apple cider.

I've been making pie filling with my apples. Chopped apples with a little flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a glass loaf pan, covered with pierced tin foil and baked like pie. It's super yummy and takes about 15 minutes to throw together if you're fast at chopping apples.

I don't have a recipe, but one of the best applesauces my mom makes is by melting redhots into the stuff. Makes it a little sweet and cinammony. SO GOOD!

Can you make cake?

I made this the other day, it's delicious: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/spiced-applesauce-bread/detail.aspx
I added chopped apples to the recipe to give it a bit more texture, but it calls for a fair bit of applesauce too. :)

I just peel them, chop them up, and cook them down in a little water. Add some cinnamon and nutmeg. Boring, but functional!
