I didn't get to sleep until after 4 this morning, and for once, I was actually writing almost the entire time. I feel the usual wooziness I'd expect after getting less than three hours of sleep, but I can't say it wasn't worth it, since the only things I'd managed to write in the last couple of weeks met with a vehement scratching out in my notebook no sooner than they came into being. I'm blaming the Vault I naively sipped after I got home last night. If Mountain Dew, Jolt, and Red Bull can't keep me awake, how was I supposed to know that was going to??
Other things I was doing last night, before the caffeine-induced writing jag --
-- watching the first five episodes of Supernatural with
chelseafrew who was kindly sharing her new obsession with me. I already had a serious thing for Jensen Ackles from Dark Angel, and I gotta say, that is some seriously addictive brother-angst. I'm a little leary of the fandom, but I've survived worse. Besides, everyone has to jump on at least one big fannish bandwagon, and since SGA wasn't going to happen for me, I'm almost obliged
-- catching up with Project Runway, which is my own new obsession (and which had the Most Entertaining Reality Show Reunion Episode Ever last night, and I've watched a lot of reality TV I'm sad to say). OMG, Tim Gunn must come and mentor me immediately. I need his kindly but biting wisdom about my fashion choices stat.
-- catching up on the Olympics. Unlike most of the rest of the world, the ladies singles skating is the event I care least about, but I'm rooting whole-heartedly for Irina Slutskaya to finally get her gold. Her short program filled me with such joy to watch. But my heart this Olympiad belonged completely to Belbin and Agosto.
And to Simon Le Bon, who performed in Torino wearing black leather gloves. Oh yeah.
-- angsting over my computer problems, which continue to decline to be fixed. Lucky for me, Best Buy is having a great deal on exactly the new hard drive I wanted - I went in one day to look, went back the next day to buy and found it was sixty bucks cheaper, just for me. So I can at least finally back up my fifty gigs of Duran bootlegs and eighty million vids and TV shows properly before I start getting tricksy with Windows again. In the meantime, still no internet access at home, so if you're trying to find me in the evenings, phone or text message is the way to go.
