I enjoyed seeing the hospital in the midst of a crisis -- something right out of the fanfic, y'know?

And I enjoyed seeing the character repercussions from the last episode -- House punishing Chase and Cuddy railing on House particularly.  The Chase thing is interesting because Wilson's right, House should just fire Chase.  But he probably won't because a) Chase may be a dickweed, but he's still a good doctor and House needs an intensivist to keep his patients alive while he figures out how to fix them, b) because he won the power play, and Chase is now totally his bitch and House gets off on that, and c) House may still feel a bit of personal interest in Chase from the dying father thing (possibly compassion?  or more likely curiosity over what will happen when Chase Sr. kicks it?).

And I continue loving the Cuddy/House dynamic.  She'll browbeat him until one of them's bleeding from the ears, but she knows when to stop and take him seriously.  As soon as he proved that the girl was in serious trouble, she let everything drop and got House what he needed.

Foreman, you keep hanging in there and being your cool self.  You're my one duckling hope left.  ("The morgue?  Oh, tell me he's not seriously going to -- oh, he is.  That's way cool.")

Cameron... I love you, you know I do, but you're making Cuddy's melons look demurely Victorian over there.  You're right that sexual harrassment probably is the only way to get House to date you, but is this really the way you want to conduct your professional life?  Really?

I love that it was Wilson who was interviewing all of the candidates -- not because as the head of Oncology he had anything to do with the decision, but simply because somebody had to handle it, and that somebody wasn't going to be House.  He is so House's professional wife.

Am I the only one who thought that Tatooed Interviewee was kind of cute?

And on that note, I'll join the clamoring squee over House! Wilson!  Shoes!  Jewish foreplay!  OMG so needing to make out right. this. minute.   I adore that House uses Wilson as his personal barometer of coolness.

And I adore House for how he dealt with the girl -- bluntly, but not cruelly -- and how he handled the parents.  And how affected he was while watching her through the glass while she told her parents.  She told the truth at an incredibly difficult moment, and I think House had a lot of respect for that.

Can it be next week yet?  Please?

I still think the woman in the green shoes would have made an interesting ongoing character. She could give as good as she got.

I think that's my biggest problem with the House/Cameron thing. It's partly the fact that I don't want them together at all, it's partly the fact that I don't think they're good for each other--and it's partly the fact that she's behaving in the most insanely unprofessional way possible. And she's starting to be smug about it, which is really unattractive. (So why do I find House's smug unprofessionalism so attractive? Because he's so damaged? Because I'm a hypocrite?)

The Tatooed Interviewee was kind of cute in the conformist/non-conformist way that House pointed out.

I notice that Cuddy sent Wilson off with House to do the interviews. I wonder if it was partly her idea in the first place, because she knew no one else could make him do them. Plus he would still be able to soothe over any potential lawsuits. *g*

Gah. Need next week. NEED IT!

Yes. Yes yes YES. <3 Cuddy so much, for exactly that reason. She will push and push and snark and snark, and the moment it's clear that a genuine medical issue is involved (and she doesn't need beating over the head to make it clear), she's right there.

Actually, last night I flashed on a scene from Angel, when Wesley went to get Faith out of jail. All he had to say was, "Angelus is back," and within two seconds, Faith responded, "Step away from the glass." Cuddy has that kind of lightening response and determination. "Got it. Acting." Love that.

Yeah, but don't you think that would kind of kill House's flow? I think she'd be too much... think of House as Snark and her as Anti-Snark (she's not, but you get what I mean). They'd cancel each other out. Plus, they already have Cuddy to fulfill this function, and it works with her because she's House's superior, and we don't see as much of her. If they were together the whole episode, they'd just be snarking at each other the whole time, and it'd get old pretty fast.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I really liked her for that scene, but we've got Cuddy and Foreman and (to some extent) Cameron who can give House a taste of his own medicine. Part of what made Green Shoes interesting was the fact that she was so obviously a perfect match -- and yet that's not what House wanted at all.

Cuddy certainly is not above using Wilson to manage House -- and Wilson does the same with Cuddy, as we saw in Detox. It's an interesting little partnership they have going, with all the House-wrangling they have to do. *g*

And House has earned his smugness. Cameron hasn't. In the past I've thought that they were good for each other (not in a shippy way, but in a colleagues/semi-friends who understand certain things about each other way), but now I'm wondering if she's mature enough to be able to deal with him, really.

Yes! That's exactly it. I love characters who can sweep aside all the bullshit in an instant and recognize that there's a more important issue to be handled. It's a trait I wish I saw more in real life, as well as fiction. *g*

I like snarkfests;) Alot of the characters on the show can't go head-on with House, but for a while she could. I know Cuddy fills the role to an extent, but to me she's still not someone who can verbally spar with House without feeling intimidated. Just give the show some variety on that front.

re: Wilson and Cuddy--I think tag-team-wrangling is the only way you can get House to do anything sometimes, and Wilson and Cuddy both know it. And while Cuddy doesn't like House as much as Wilson does, I think she knows him well enough to understand that. And, also, even the best shepherd needs a sheepdog now and then. *g*

I still want to like Cameron. She's good at what she does. But this smirking and thinking she understands House... So not working for me. Maybe you're right that part of why it doesn't is that House has earned his smugness and Cameron hasn't. (I am, however, still willing to believe I am also a hypocrite when it comes to this. *g*) It certainly just isn't as physically attractive on her, at any rate.

I think, if she gets over it, she will be someone he needs to have around. I'm wondering if, right now, she's trying to play his game. Be as inappropriate and confrontational as he is, and see if that gets them any farther. Maybe? Possibly?
