I haven't been posting much lately, because I've been pretty constantly exhausted for the last couple weeks, and it takes energy to think of random interesting things that other people might actually want to read. So I gave up on the interesting, and now you're stuck with just the random things part.

* My story for [livejournal.com profile] takethehouse is going suspiciously well. But the deadline is still a week away, which means that there's still plenty of time for my usual panic freeze. I expected it before this, is all. The only bad thing is that I cannot remember what I did with my Ocean's 11 DVD.

* I just found out that as of Sunday, the bus that goes by my complex will not exist anymore. There have been no signs posted or announcements made anywhere a regular rider of this bus might see it -- I suppose the suspicious lack of new schedules for that route was supposed to tip us off. Fortunately, they've rerouted a completely different route, which previously came nowhere near where I live, to service our little street. Unfortunately, it's going to add about 20 minutes to my commute.

This new bus also happens to be the bus that goes right by the Motor Vehicle Administration. I suspect this may be God's way of telling me to get the hell over my panicky nerves and just get my damn driver's license. (yes, in my head, God swears mildly at me).

* Reason #479 Why I Adore Simon le Bon: Simon le Bon: You Ask the Questions

A sample --
Q: Is it true that you nearly drowned on the video set for The Wild Boys?

A: No, it's not. People think that because I was strapped to a windmill and my head went underwater, it was really dangerous, but it wasn't. Of course, when we get asked this question in interviews, Nick Rhodes always says: "Well, we've got the DVD now so, if you pause it, you can keep his head underwater for as long as you want." Which I think is so crass, but he thinks it's funny! He says it in almost every interview. I think repeating yourself is a sign of old age, telling the same joke again and again. Especially if they're jokes that don't make people laugh. Yeah, you've really been trying with that one, Nick, but you've gotta give it up.

* I am now two episodes behind on House. Contrary to some opinion, this is not the fault of the Duran Duran obsession. I did, however, watch NCIS last night, and mentally, I'm still back in front of the television set, staring at the screen and blinking.

* Serenity tomorrow night! Wheee!

No, not until September. But there's a sneak preview screening tomorrow, and I was lucky enough to get tickets. :-):-)

I know, I'm a terrible fan. Circumstances are just conspiring against me lately. But hopefully tonight I'll get to catch up -- unless I find my O11 DVD, in which case, I'm obligated to watch that. *g*

I've made a resolution that from now on, it won't stop me, either! So prepare yourselves. *g*

*glares in horrible, horrible jealousy* Damn you! :-) Uh, you want a houseguest? Oh bugger that! I'm invading!!! I'll be severely non-overpaid, possibly over-sexed and definitely, definitely over there...

September... and I bet even then it won't come to Sweden for months and months and months after that *moans in despair*

Well, I don't want to stand between you and a chance for me to get O11 slash. *g* But, dude: HOUSE!

I shake my jealous fist in your general direction!

Would you be willing to give me the "reaction shot", with no spoilers?

YAY! Am squeefully excited for you! You must post and post well come Friday morning. (And by Friday morning I mean as soon as you get home from D.C.--sooner if you can do a phone post or something. *g*) [livejournal.com profile] noelql and I will wait with great anticipation to read your take on it. We loved it, but as you know, there were mixed reviews.

And if anyone (read Adam Baldwin or Jewel Staite) comes to your screening, take lots and lots of pictures and slap him or her for not coming to the Chicago screening last time. I know, I know, Jewel was filming and stuff, but... [whine] It's Chicago! [/whine]

*looks around quizzically* Should I be working? *shrug* Whatever. Serenity! Wheeeee!

Without spoiling me - I just want ya'll to tell me that my t-shirt idea is still good after the movie. (Cause I only got the idea off of the trailer, ya know.)

and why do i have no firefly icon?!?!?

Hee! Come on over!

I'm just happy to get to see it, because I don't trust myself to avoid spoilers for the next 3-4 months....

Of course!

From: [identity profile] marzilla.livejournal.com
Well, I'm not going to slap them, because then they would call security and then I would not get to see the movie after all, and frankly, while I'm sad for your sakes that they didn't show in Chicago, I'm not *that* sad. *g*

Can't wait! *bounce*

I think I want that t-shirt anyway, whether the movie affirms it or not. *g*

And I have no Firefly icon, either. I really should fix that before tomorrow.

i think my jaw scraped the ground at the end of ncis. yikes.

sorry about the bus, that sounds like an illogical way for the transportation folks to communicate with riders. ack.

i was happy to see your post, and i hope that things get less exhausting asap. *hugs*
