I *hate* NBC. I have always hated NBC, and somebody needs to take the Olympics away from them *right now.* Though Bob Costas needs to go with them.

So I'm sitting here, all primed like a good little ice dance maniac, ready for the OD. And suddenly, I hear the lovely strains of the tango from Moulin Rouge being played in the Olympic arena. Someone was skating to it! Bliss!

Of course, in order to know *who* was skating to it, I'd have to actually be able to see it. And lo, when I looked eagerly up at my TV set, what did I see? Shae-Lynn Bourne, sitting backstage staring into space, waiting for her warm-up group.

Now, Shae-Lynn is a lovely thing to look at. However, she was not the one skating to the music they were playing. Is it too much to ask to be able to see the people who were? Apparently yes, if you ask NBC.

People need to tell the advertisors that we don't like NBC's olympics. Make note of the commercials you see, and write letters.

Er, also tell NBC. They can always get someone else to run the show if everyone tells them how much we hate what they do.

I've told them. Many, many people have told them. They don't care. Grrr. Skating fans have been pleading with them to change how they do skating coverage for years, and it only gets worse.

The advertisers are a good thought, though I have a feeling that they're going to advertise on the Olympics no matter what network it's on, and NBC knows it.

Still bitchy. Need to find CBC coverage and see if it's any better.

Even *I* would have felt bitchy about this. I don't care about the Olympics, but I would love to see someone ice-dance to "El Tango de Roxanne". :)

Thanks! I've been wanting that as an icon for a while, but I hunted far and wide before I found something worth stealing--er, adapting. :-)

Agreed, both regarding NBC and that particular moment "who's using the Moulin Rouge tango?" "I don't know, maybe it's in warm-ups and we'll see it later." Fat chance...
