So I had marvelous intentions for last night. I was going to come home early, have dinner, do my laundry, then settle in for a relaxing and productive evening of working on my TPM story, playing with my Sports Night episode guide, watching Ewan on MTV, and listening to
sithdragn freak out about the hockey game.
And I was so pleased with myself that I was making it home, despite all the buses running late, just in time to avoid the storm. Or something. Because just as I reached the front door, all the power in my complex went out.
And stayed out. Until 3:30 in the freaking morning.
And we discovered that we are completely helpless in the face of low tech adversity ("What do we eat?? The microwave isn't working! Aaaack!"). I also discovered that reading by candlelight is much less romantic than it looks in the movies, and much harder on the eyes. I am much too dependent on technology for many things, including my entertainment. I ended up calling my mother just because I literally had nothing else to do, which worked out because I owed her a phone call that I had been putting off.
And in the way of productivity, I did manage to get a couple pages done on my Seyonne/Aleksander story. Good thing I was handwriting that one anyway.

And look -- another game on in 45 minutes.
"What do we eat?? The microwave isn't working! Aaaack!"
LOL! I know *exactly* what you mean by that one. Cook? As in oven and stovetop? Eek! Such a sad, dependent lot we are. But they'll pry my techie toys out of my cold dead claws before I give 'em up.
