This is a little vignette I've been fiddling with since watching the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries.

First Night Passing

Dammit, woman!

I DO NOT NEED another fandom!

This is believable -- appealing as a more *hem* active encounter might be, they've both got too much armor. And it's nice to see someone thinking about the fact that both Starbuck and Tigh are likely to become more abstemious. Tho humans can always rig up a still, one way or another.

Nice work, Cori!

I haven't actually seen the new BSG, but I remember the original *cough* and saw the adds so I just went with it. :) Nice mix of emotions in an unbelievably traumatic time. It seemed very real that there would be a kind of 'collapse' in the first quiet moments, when all the losses could be thought of and the beginnings of comfort offered/accepted.

If you adored the old one and can't bear the thought of changing one precious instant, the new might not make you happy. I thought the old one was silly and was astonished at how adult the new one is. Watched it for Bamber, Olmos, and McDonnell and -- whew! The new Starbuck is cute, tough, and ferociously protective of her vulnerability. Not your daddy's battlestar.

Oh man, I've been wanting this since I saw the miniseries. Thank you so, so much.

I kept meaning to tape it, but got lulled into the 'I'll catch it the next time it's on' syndrome. I'll get it next time!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. And yeah, they probably have a ways to go before more activity than that, attractive as that would be. Maybe once they get the still rigged up, Apollo and Starbuck will lose some of that armor. *g*

And of course you need another fandom! It's a such a pretty one!

Thanks! I think there would have to come a moment when even characters as strong and stoic as Starbuck and Apollo would buckle under the sheer enormity of everything that happened.

And do watch the miniseries when you get the chance! It's really shockingly good quality.

You're welcome, and thank you! I've been wanting it since I saw the miniseries, too. But no one wrote it for me, so I had to do it myself, alas! Glad you enjoyed it.
