Well, I'm back...
Aug. 22nd, 2004 10:06 pm...and god, I'm tired. I've been home just one night in the last week and a half, and I'm beginning to think going back to work tomorrow might actually be restful. I had planned a much more thorough set of trip reports, but I'm lazy and my TiVo has many things stored up for me to watch, so in brief:
Thursday before last, I headed to Chicago for VividCon. This was the best-run con I've ever been to. I watched many, many hours of vids, and the vast majority of them were really good. I danced myself silly at Club Vivid. I got lovely DVDs. I met so many online friends who were even more awesome to talk to in person than here, quite a few that I only got to talk to very briefly, and spotted more that I didn't get to talk to at all. Must do better next year.
After the con, I stayed in Chicago for a few more days to sightsee and hang out with
noelql and
deannie, who are the best hosts ever. Chicago is also the best city ever. We hit the Xianlong exhibit at the Field Museum, the Seurat exhibit at the Art Institute, the penguins at the Lincoln Park Zoo, the architecture boat tour, and we watched a lot of Olympics and ate a lot of really good food. I was quite tempted to set up camp in their living room forever and ever.
But home I came on Thursday, had a brief evening of bonding with my bed and my TiVo, then headed up to NY/NJ with
chelseafrew to visit with
rosemitchell and Her Royal Highness the Munchkin of Munchkins. Much fun was had and many cute pictures were taken.
And now I'm finally home for good, catching up with LJ and email sporadically, thinking of many things I meant to write long passages about. I may or may not get done before I pass out, but if you bet against me, I won't blame you.
