Well, fudge.
Jan. 11th, 2011 09:46 pmI was all excited to finally get to post my
merlin_holidays story with my name on it. A big part of that was getting to crosspost to
merlinxarthur, because it was going to be Story #5 that I needed to get my contributor's tag back.
Yes, I've been writing in this fandom for 2 years and I just made 5 stories. Hush. Two of them were real long!
But just now I was pulling all my post links in order to ask for the contributor's tag, and for love or money, I cannot find the crosspost of my big bang.
I know I crossposted it after
paperlegends finished up. I remember doing it. I really do. But it's not there anywhere, either on merlinxarthur or even merlinslash, unless I have completely lost all powers of visual comprehension. I don't know if I dreamed it or what. Either way, it's obviously way too late to post it there now.
Sigh. I guess I'm still not a "real" Merlin writer.
But anyway, in case anyone was still wondering, my merlin_hols story was called "Same As It Ever Was." The original posting is here and the cleaned-up version (recommended) is here.
This story was awesome to think about and a hell and a half to actually write. I do kind of like the result, though, now that I'm further away from the writing process. My recipient gave me several inspirational prompting quotes and vids about life choices and regrets, which made me think about Merlin's fears and what, out of all his mistakes, would he truly regret.
While I'm confessing to fic, I also did a very, very last minute
yuletide story. It was for The Tudors, and the recipient asked for "sexy rivalry" between Henry VIII and Francis I.
As I had just done a rewatch of season 1 of The Tudors, I did my best to oblige, even though it was after midnight on Christmas and certain people were eyeing me and tapping their virtual feet while I begged for just ten more minutes:
Rematched
It turns out that not a lot of people read Tudors fic that's not about Anne Boleyn, but that's okay! I'm just happy that I participated in yuletide after all.
