Since factcheck.org keeps giving me server busy errors....

For those who watched the U.S. VP debate last night (or who, like me, avoided the debates with liberal applications of Farscape and NCIS), the Washington Post has a nifty feature this morning: The Debate Referee It's a transcript of the debate with links to the Post's analysis of how true or untrue the "factual" statements actually were, from both Cheney and Edwards.

It's entertaining reading.

I haven't read it yet. The referee was fairly evenly matched with the Bush/Kerry debate (mostly because Bush just never said much of substance so he couldn't lie a lot).

I'll be interested to see if the referee had to just throw in the towel at any point with all the BS Cheney was spewing. . . ;-)

Thanks for the link!

I didn't see it for the Bush/Kerry one, so I must have read the transcript somewhere else that time. Cheney is much more fun than Bush, because you can just sit there and point at the TV and yell, "Lie! Lie! Ooh, there's another one!" every few minutes. *g*

I read it this morning, since I didn't get to see the debate at all. Very interesting. Did you see the bit about where factcheck.com (which Cheney said by mistake) really takes you? (this might have been in Howard Kurtz's Media Notes, actually). The Washington Monthly had a bit about this, too--apparently the real owners of factcheck.com redirected their page to georgesoros.com, an extremely anti-Bush site. Hee! Their lawyer said the choice was purely according to political preference.

Yeah, I saw that! Quick thinking on their part. It makes Cheney look like even more of a doofus, which I just can't help but love. *g*
