Things that are making me happy today...

... it's a short list, but I don't need that much.

1.  I now have the first episode of the new Battlestar Galactica series on my computer, here and at home.  I am not allowed to watch it yet, but I have it, and the having is the important part.

2.  yuletide is open for business again!  Go and make your obscure fandom suggestions now!  And then write something!  It's fun!  

3.  Exclamation marks have no calories! 

4.  Season 7 of Stargate comes out today!  Which, granted, isn't my very favorite season due to the tragic missing persons case, but I can't wait to hear some of the commentary, and at the very least, I can throw out a bunch of tapes now.

5.  Joan of Arcadia is coming out on DVD!

6.  Semagic puts in my links for me!  I love this thing.

It's almost enough to overcome the aura of stress and misery around here this week.

It actually doesn't work out so well for me to have it be only obscure fandoms, not obscure pairings, because a couple of my suggestions are kind of on the borderline of rarity. But it's worth it if it gets you to play. *g*

The issue for me is that what I'm most interested in in terms of obscure one-offs are gen things that really get inside characters' heads, rather than romance (whether slash or het). If I can ask for gen things -- and for that matter, write gen things -- then I'm a very very happy camper.

Yeah, true. Gen was allowed last year, but there wasn't a way to specifically request it. It'll be very nice to be able to add comments other than fandom and pairing.

And in perusing the suggestions post, I knew your suggestion list was yours even before I saw your icon. *g*

Speaking of the Star that Battles, do you happen to have the miniseries still? I seem to have misplaced mine. I think. *shrug* Anyway, if you brought it to E-Con for me (on disc would be lovely), I might be able to... I don't know... give you something for it. (Though I've no idea what you need that we have. Let me know, mmkay?)

And yes, I have many, many copies of the miniseries. I was actually going to bring a few of the VCDs to E-con to give away anyway, so I'll just set them aside for you. *g*

I heartell the DVD is due out Jan 18 for $19.95... but that is ever so long to wait. :D I had a friend with a TiVo tape it. :)

It's way too long to wait! I don't know what they were thinking, waiting that long. It was originally supposed to be out in June or July -- if I'd known, I would have gotten it from the UK when it came out there back in March.

But I have a VHS copy, three VCD copies, and a bootleg DVD I bought off ebay, so I get by. *g*

You know, the moment I read this, this is exactly what happened in my office:

Me: Ooooh! Stargate Season 7! The gods have smiled upon my house! DG, DG!
DG: Huh?
Me: It's Best Buy Tuesday. You going?
DG: Yeah.
Me: Well come on. Let's go.
DG: You driving?
Me: Yes, and I intend to break all speed laws. Season 7 is waaaaaaaaaaiting for meeeeeeeee!

I am now the happy owner of my very own boxed set. Only, I have a class tonight and cannot watch any of this stuff until tomorrow. So maybe the gods don't smile on me so much after all.

yup, season 7. sitting here on my coffee table next to my laptop. er, i'm absolutely not watching certain parts of fallen frame by frame. heh heh heh.

i love getting rid of those tapes. *sigh* and i'm so looking forward to the battlestar galactica series. i loved the mini series which was a happy surprise. i am not a fan of the original series. i hope the rest of the week goes better. *g*
