Because work is way more boring than I remember it being, and I don't feel like reading. So this was my weekend, as I wistfully remember it:

-- Finally caved to the pressure and got a cell phone. After every person whose opinion I asked responded with some variation of "Yes! For the love of God, get a cell phone! No one can ever reach you! Here, let me help you pick one out as quickly as possible," I decided it would be a good investment. And it's cute and little and blue! Only time will tell whether it gets named or not. Oh, and it has AIM on it, which rocks. I don't have to stop chatting even on the bus now. *g*

-- Saw movies. Walked out of "Windtalkers" -- the subject matter (Navajo codetalkers in WWII) intrigues me, but the movie was one long gory explosion, and I just didn't need that level of war realism (or the pounding in my head). Plus, I hate Nicholas Cage. I really, really just can't stand him. The only time I've ever liked him was in "Face/Off," and that was when he was playing a psycho killer.

"The Bourne Identity" was much more the type of action I was in the mood for after a sucky week. Decent action plot, with more martial arts than explosions, minor espionage action, and Matt Damon being hot all over the place. Ahhhh.

On the less shallow end of the scale, also saw "13 Conversations About One Thing," which I really liked. The pacing is excrutiatingly slow at times, but the viewer's patience pays off. Each story is told out of chronological order, but so that everything ties together in a statement about people and happiness.

-- had my last toy bonanza for awhile. Finally found Jedi Armor Qui, Cold Weather Gear Obi, and my ReBoot guys (on clearance!) Plus Hagrid riding Sirius' motorbike, which I will try to pry him off of as soon as possible.

-- and topped off the weekend with the QAF finale (love Justin, love Ethan, sorry, Beth *G*), and then played with my Sims until 2 a.m.

Gee, no wonder I don't want to work today....
