From the files of "only my mother"....
My mother just got home from her cross-country train trip. While on the train from Chicago to Denver, she struck up a conversation with a nice English gentleman. The English gentleman mentioned he lived in London, and in return my mother mentioned that her daughter had been to London and was a lover of all things English (she specifically mentioned Duran Duran and Doctor Who, which probably came off as a roundabout way of saying "my daughter, she doesn't really get out much.")
But after she mentioned Doctor Who, the gentleman exclaimed in delight that he was an actor who had been in two episodes of the new Doctor Who. Specifically, he's Damian Samuels, who played Mr. Lloyd in The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.
She got an autograph for me -- and his phone number for herself.
Am very amused.
