We watched about half of Goldeneye on Telemundo this evening, and so when I got home I had the yen to put in my new DVD and watch. After enjoying the lovely slashy Sean-ness of the opening, we get to the theme song, which is my favorite James Bond theme by far. I've loved this song for years, have the mp3 on my computer, play it all the time. Tina Turner, sexy music, what's not to love?

And in all that time, I never realized that it's really the twisted, obsessive love song of 006 to 007. I mean, it really is. I even looked up the lyrics to be absolutely sure it wasn't just me.

OMG!!! I KNEW that I was not the only person who thought that. Everyone says there can't be any Bond slash, but you have to see this movie in particular to understand. Any other movie, I'm the first to say - no, never. But this one shocked me at the slashiness in their relationship. James is never really close to anyone so to carry the guilt from 006's death from nine years prior was a huge deal, I thought.

Right... and Bond is so upset when he finds out about 006 he has to go down to the beach and stare moodily into the ocean. When has Bond ever been so emotional over a *woman*? Eh? That's right. Never.
