The Friday Post of Happiness
Jun. 30th, 2006 12:24 pmThings that are making me happy today:
1. It's sunny and dry! And it's going to stay this way! It is! Really! For at least a couple days! Topper Shutt promised!
1a. I can do laundry tomorrow. Thank God.
2. My earrings and toenails match. I didn't notice until I was leaving for work and saw the glint off my feet (which have been concealed under various waterproof shoes for days). The girly girl hidden deep inside my head is well pleased.
3. I get to see Jamie Bamber next weekend! And a bunch of other cool Farscape and SG people, because Shore Leave is the one actor con left that rocks, but I'm shallow, and therefore am in it for the Bamber.
4. I haven't gotten to see much of the World Cup, due to never being home the last couple weeks and my TiVo still being non-functioning. And I'm missing half of the quarterfinals today -- but the half I care about is on tomorrow, and I'll be home all day finishing the last of my unpacking and watching England-Portugal and Brazil-France.
5. I'm not going to see the new Superman movie. I don't know why this is making me so happy, but it is.
6. I'm actually writing a little. It's not much, but the process of coaxing my sulky, lazy muse out from under the bed has begun. And in the meantime, I have two outstanding TPM zine stories that I can post -- a false sense of productivity for just the cost of a little cutting and pasting! Yay!
7. It can't possibly be more than another half hour before lunch gets here.

Date: 2006-06-30 04:30 pm (UTC)Me, either. I just can't get excited about that. It's not Christopher Reeve, and there are things that should just be left as they are. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I rest my case.

Date: 2006-06-30 06:00 pm (UTC)A lot of other people seemed to have really enjoyed it, though, so I'm glad to see the fannish happiness all around.
And I didn't entirely mind the new Charlie, just because I worship Johnny Depp. And I liked the Oompa Loompas. But yeah. Still not necessary.
Oh, and happy birthday! Hope you're having fun today!

Date: 2006-06-30 08:32 pm (UTC)I skipped this Charlie because a) the whole remake of a good thing, thing... and b) while I am usually a Depp fan, he just looked really creepy and the more previews I saw, the creepier he became.
And thank you! Tonight should be much fun!

Date: 2006-07-01 11:13 am (UTC)Yay, World Cup!!!!
I wish I had been industrious enough these past few weeks to make an icon. ;)
I have watched a possibly embarrassing amount of matches over the past few weeks - enough that when there were no games for two WHOLE DAYS I started to have some withdrawal going on.
I will SO be watching the England-Portugal game today, though, I can't wait!!!! Brazil-France is only a maybe, as I do unfortunately actually have to sleep sometime today.
yay World Cup!!!!!!!
