Arthur has slipped into his leading role seamlessly. He's compassionate and imperious and solid and with Merlin at his side, he's already making an excellent King. The end of the world is allowing his and Merlin's relationship to flourish. These two would never have been allowed this freedom otherwise.
I haven't seen the movie this was based on, but you took a compelling premise and ran with it. This was a wildly entertaining, very well realized story that rang true to the characters. It was a wonderful read from beginning to end.
This line made me laugh out loud with glee: "They're okay," Merlin said with complete, demented confidence. "I know it." The idea that Merlin's hare brained scheme might actually have saved people is wonderful, and more wonderful still is the description of his complete, demented confidence. Demented confidence captures Merlin perfectly!

Thanks, again, for the wonderful read.
