That was fantastic :) I haven't watched the film but I prefer that so I can enjoy this for what it is. A multi layered epic.
So many wonderful aspects to it the way you layered in canon characters, aspects of our current royal family history (the tunnel need I say more).
Both Arthur and Merlin were wonderful, I even felt for Uther trying to do the right thing especially in the case of Morgana's death.
I have just finished reading this and my mind is still whirling slightly so cant express myself properly needless to say the is going in to my memories straight away.
