Hello, Pinboard: The Fans Are All Right.

I was going to hold off on moving all my bookmarks until I saw whether Delicious was going to get itself together, but screw that. I'm moving to Pinboard.

ETA: When I first posted this, I had forgotten that Pinboard charges a one-time set-up fee, which is just under $10. Obviously not everybody can justify that in their budgets these days. However, fandom being fandom, there's already a lively swapmeet going over on the fannish Pinboard comm where many people are offering to gift Pinboard accounts to fellow fans, either gratis or in exchange for small fannish services.

I got a pinboard account last December when Delicious was bought by AVOS just in case and I'm glad I did. I hate changes so I would prefer if Delicious hadn't been completely stripped of functionality but, apart from it being a paid service, it seems the best option right now.

And all his comments about fandom have been lovely.

So far I really like Pinboard because it has all that functionality from Delicious without some of the weird nonsense Delicious always had going on. I think I overlooked it last December because it had the set-up fee, but at this point, it was more than worth it.
