This actually interests me primarily as a possible solution to the plot hole that's been bugging me for ages now -- she has magic, so why doesn't she just sneak into Camelot and kill Arthur (and Uther before him) in his sleep? Merlin's not in Arthur's bedchamber 24/7, although it probably seems that way to Arthur (hee).

Hm, interesting point. Perhaps she doesn't want anyone to know she's the one responsible, considering how badly it went the last time she tried to take over. The knights might not forget all of that, but the people might eventually come around to accepting her. Otherwise it does seem like a ridiculous plot hole, especially after seeing her successfully kill Uther.

Gaius and Gwaine both rocked this ep! I keep on being surprised that Gaius has lasted this long, but the show isn't letting go of those older adults just yet.

I agree that Gaius has just laid a HUGE amount of the groundwork necessary for Arthur to finally find out about Merlin's magic and accept it. I just hope we actually get to see that moment on the show one day.
