Happy Merlin Day! Or Saturday, if you're a heathen

Wow, this week has been the biggest emotional rollercoaster ever (fannishly speaking -- real life is quite nice for the most part). I have never had so many huge fandom ups and downs in such a short space of time.

Let's focus on the ups:

-- I got to go see Parked at the DC Irish film festival screening with chelseafrew and stellarmeadow. A very good movie hitting surprisingly close to home for me on a few levels. Colin Morgan remains a relentlessly impressive actor and also just exquisite to look at. I got to meet and chat with stagarden and wave briefly to incapricious (okay, we really just have to meet properly already!)

-- People actually read and liked my unicorn porn! I love you guys so much for actually giving it a chance.

-- I got the best story ever for merlin_holidays! If you like modern royal AUs, you are going to love this. If you like teenage boys kissing, pining, jealousy, or second chances at love, you will love this. Disregard the rating and the unnecessarily self-deprecating author's note -- you are going to love this fic.

My fannish up was that first story posted to merlin_holidays and the art that went up that day too. ZOMG so gorgeous, both of them. I didn't really have a fannish down, because I have worked hard not to. I had enough junk going on offline. *g* I'm sorry you did, tho. Hope everything else is going well!

Definitely a high point to have my first face to face meeting with another Merlin fangirl (presumably while surrounded by a bunch of other Merlin fangirls). <3

And of course I got to see Colin in another role, and to hear him say "fuck" and variations thereof.

A bit of a low point that one of my fandom friends is M.I.A. these last several days.

Face to face Merlin talk is such a great high! And Colin, of course, goes without saying. The minute he said "prick" I was like, yeah, I'm going to be perving worse than usual on the poor boy. I did love that everyone in the theater was very well behaved, but you could still feel the electric fangirl atmosphere of all of us appreciating Colin as hard as we could at the same time. *g*

It's always a bummer when fandom friends go MIA. Hopefully nothing major is wrong!

Fannish ups: Reading your Merlin gift, because that was EXCELLENT, and getting my hard copy of Passion and Profession in the mail! Yay!

Downs: Not having enough time to write!
