Well, wasn't that just nice for everyone? You got your standard-issue Daniel With The Crazy, your Helpless Stoically Angsting Jack, your Loyal Guardian Teal'c, your Ferocious Mother Lion Janet, and your Save the Day Sam. And pretty much every combination of slash and ship between those people as you can imagine. You got your:

Jack/Teal'c - not a lot there, but loads of warrior brotherhood as Teal'c watches over Daniel until Jack recovers enough to do it himself.

Daniel/Teal'c - Hello, Teal'c won't leave Daniel, even to go see Sam and Jack.

Janet/Sam - Sam waking in the infirmary, and the then the look they exchange at the end. I don't usually get the Sam/Janet, but there were some vibes here.

Janet/Daniel - whew! Janet screaming at the Sovereign that she was going to take Daniel's body back. Strong stuff.

And of course, my OTP, the Jack/Daniel. Jack can't do anything for Daniel, he can't even be in the room with him, but he won't leave. So he just sits there. And watches. For what must be hours. Until he's finally had enough and goes to kick some alien ass to get his boyfriend back. And the tenderness he shows Daniel at the end. Happy sigh.

Plot bunnies also spawned by the interesting look on Jack's face when the Sovereign took control of Daniel again right after Keenan was crying in Janet's lap, and then was berating Janet. It was like, "Huh. Wonder if I can get him to do that in bed?"

My big Hee! moment of the evening - "Find the small woman..."

Oh, yeah, and the plot was pretty cool, too. I liked the whole lifeboat idea, and seeing how the different personalities responded to the situation, with the lowly engineer and the small boy feeling more loyalty to help their people than the great leader. I liked the scenes between the father and Sam and Teal'c, each with their own vehement determination to save their people. And I really liked Jack watching the moment between the father and his son. That had to be tremendously hard for him, knowing that in order to save Daniel, another father had to lose his child.

Good ep. Watched it three times in a row. Will probably watch it again if I can stay conscious long enough.

Yeah. *g* I wish they'd left in a few of the lines I'd heard Jack was going to get, but you know, at this point, I'll take what I can get!

There were some early spoilers about Jack being quite clear about the fact that Daniel's loss wasn't acceptable - in more overt ways than were demonstrated in the episode. Couple of lines to the effect of 'he's our friend and this is against his will', etc. Looks like Teal'c ended up picking up those lines, possibly due to RDA's schedule reduction, which also explains why Jack didn't go back to the planet; Sam and Teal'c probably absorbed the dialogue Jack was going to say.
