Yes, new icon, lemming, yadda. Idea taken from pretty much *everybody* on my friends list. Fortunately, I don't look nearly as stoned when I scaled it down to icon size.

I looked at my recent entries page this morning and was shocked to realize just how long it's been since I posted anything, of substance or not. I keep thinking of things I want to write about here, and I compose the entries neatly in my head on the bus or while working, and then I completely forget the whole "typing them in and posting" part of the process. Oops. When I discover the secret to world peace, I'll do my best to follow through on that one (though here's a hint: if you live in the U.S., voting in November will be a good first step).

Speaking of follow through, I have a brand new computer sitting on my living room floor. I finally caved and ordered it when my current computer freaked the hell out to the point where I barely got it booted before I had to reboot it again. After much trauma with my bank, who seemed reluctant to let me spend my own money, it came, and now it's sitting there. My old computer calmed down as soon as I ordered the old one, of course, so now a little voice in the back of my head is gibbering about the expense and telling me to send it back. I haven't so much as touched the boxes since it got here.

I'm not going to send it back, however, because a new computer means I can finally try my hand at vidding, which I've been dying to do for ages. I've done a ton of research on capture cards and firewires and suchlike, most of which involved many, many words and other combinations of letters that I do not understand. After careful consideration, I intend to go to Best Buy tonight, spin myself around rapidly in the aisle, and then buy whichever capture card I knock off the shelf first.

In the meantime, I've discovered that Diet Coke with Lime doesn't taste nearly as bad as you would think.

I find that since I've had an LJ, the strange rambles in my head that used to be solipsistic now are formed as LJ entries for an audience. But like you, I forget about the actual sharing part. *g*

But I like it when you share your rambles, so you have to remember it more often. *g*

I write LJ entries in my head all the time...some good stuff there...too bad you cant' plug your brain into the pc....yet.

And your lil' icon does look like you. *pouts* The one I made looked like a guy. (It's the cleft chin...it was too masculine...but I can't deny my lil' butt-chin...)

But hey, when they eventually develop that brain-plugging technology, can you imagine how much fic we'll get written? It'll be awesome! *g*

And your chin is not anything like that ugly one they have on there. Go with the cute pointed one, it suits you better!

Oh, another one of the Diet Coke with Lime propaganderers! I found one at work too. He convinced me it was not as bad as the evil vile Diet Coke with Lemon. And he was sort of right. It wasn't as bad. But I wouldn't go as far as calling it good. *g*

I'm quite certain that I didn't call it good. *g* It just wasn't nearly as disgusting as I thought it would be, based on experience with the Lemon one, or even with regular Diet Coke, which I find undrinkable in its unadulterated form anyway.

I doubt I'll be drinking it again, but I did finish the bottle, at least. That's a pretty big victory for any Coke product with me. *g*

Diet. Vanilla. Pepsi. That's the true crack.

It took me a long time to work up to admitting that out loud in public, inasmuch as I have been a diehard Coke person all my life. I live on Diet Coke. But there you go.

Oh, I love that stuff. So much better than Diet Vanilla Coke. I had a brief but intense addiction to it when it first came out.

Probably ridiculously too late, but I would suggest staying THE HELL AWAY from Best Buy. At least, don't buy anything that would tempt you to get the extended warranty/service contract thingy from them. It took them *3 weeks* and a seventy-mile shipping nightmare with UPS to replace the battery in my digital camera. And they never, ever answer their phone. Hate them.

Ack! That sounds sucky! But yeah, I do know Best Buy's crappy customer service, and I'd never buy one of their warranties. My roommate bought a laptop from them years ago, and when she took it in to be fixed one time, they managed to first lose the computer and then wipe her entire harddrive beyond retrieval.

I did buy my capture card there after all, but if anything goes wrong with it, it says right on the box to call the company, not to take it back to the store. So hopefully I won't have to deal with BB's unhelpfulness. *crossing fingers*
