<Pacifier trailer> INTERNET!!! </Pacifier trailer>
What a long weekend it was without you!
So Saturday morning I went to install that new bittorrent-like program exeem on my old desktop, which (unlike Starbuck, whom you may remember from previous films such as The Day Cori Had to Reinstall XP) is the only computer hooked up to the internet. The install got stuck right at the very end and froze up, so I decided in my wisdom to reboot.
Whereupon my computer (which I have decided to retroactively name "Adama") became very, very fracked. Windows 98 refuses to start. At all. I just get "Invalid Vxd Dynamic Call" errors and then it shuts down. From what I've gathered from the support forums and a call to Dell this morning, it's not looking good unless I can figure out how to reinstall drivers without actually being able to get either to Windows or to the CD drive.
Last night I finally gave in and went to install the DSL software on Starbuck. Starbuck was not having any of that (If I were a computer, I would so be Colonel Tigh at this point), but I wore her down and managed to glimpse the sweet, sweet internet just in time for bed.
So I had lots of thoughts about Stargate and Battlestart Galactica that I wanted to post (well, a couple of thoughts, anyway), and I was so excited to read everyone else's posts, too, but at this point, I have no idea when I'll catch up. It all depends on whether the people at work have the sense to stay the hell out of my way today.
Oh, and I saw that Michael Shanks guy yesterday.

Good luck with the comp.

Date: 2005-02-08 01:35 am (UTC)those small zine story edits...
Date: 2005-02-08 07:49 am (UTC)I'd love those few corrections, because I'm about ready to print you up. But, assuming you don't have your own text available at the moment, would it help if I posted up the last version of your story friendslocked to you and Emu on my own lj? Then you could stick any changes as a comment in there.
Hey, not to put on the pressure, or anything... :)
