Tonight for the millionth time I saw someone talk about how wonderful youtube is, and how you can find anything on there. Well, I thought, we'll see about that. I'll search for something I've never been able to find anywhere for ages, and if I find it, I will acknowledge youtube as the most supremely wonderful thing ever.

So I searched for Liam Neeson's appearance on Sesame Street from a few years ago.

Okay, I just gave it a shot. A music video I've seen twice, but have been trying to find a permanent copy of since 1984.

I have to admit, I'm disappointed. Not because I didn't find it, of course--because it turns out it was a crappy music video. *sob*

Awwwww! How disappointing! I suppose sometimes it's better just to have those fleeting memories of something we thought was awesome, than to find out it wasn't.

What music video was it, out of curiosity?

Um. Peter Schilling's "Major Tom." *grin*

Hee. I'm sorry it sucked, but I'm glad you found it, at least. :-)

I don't think I've ever heard Peter Schilling's version, but the original Bowie tune is one of my least favorite songs ever, to the point where I'll actually turn the radio off if it comes on. But I'm sure Bowie would have had a better video, if MTV had been around back then. *g*

Um, different song. Same Tom, totally different tune - and Schilling's versh is in German ;)

Completely different song, actually. Schilling stole Bowie's character, but otherwise they couldn't be different. This is 80s German synth-pop we're talking about. "Earth below us, drifting falling, floating weightless, calling, calling home..." That song is actually the reason I speak German now, believe it or not. Ah, memories. :-)

Oh, that's cool. I'll definitely have to go have a look at the video, then. :-)

YouTube did not produce the one thing I wanted, which was the gag reel from Pearl Harbor with Hartnett and Affleck being Teh Gay in an Armageddon parody. I feel cheated, dude. But I'm glad you found what you wanted! That means there is hope. :D

Oh no! Now I feel all sad and guilty, like I've misled people into the promised land, and instead of milk and honey, there was only dry crackers and organic peanut butter. *g*

I don't know about you, but personally, I think dry crackers and organic peanut butter go a lot better together than milk and honey. :-)

YouTube = CRACK!!

I am so addicted to YouTube. I have found things I have never seen and some I didn't even know were available!

It is the best.

And for me, not so much. Beczuse of your post, I went looking for David McCallum singing and dancing in a tv special from 1960-something and no go. ::teh sigh::
