So [livejournal.com profile] chelseafrew IMs me a few minutes ago.  "You wanna see something hot before FNL comes on?" she says.

Like FNL isn't enough hotness? I think, but I'm never one to turn down an offer like that. "Sure," I say.

And she sends me this link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogMCLu_GsUA

And I watch it.  And I can't speak for several minutes, other than "guhhhhhh" and "OMG."

Now that I'm semi-coherent again, let me tell you about it.

Ioan Gruffudd.  Matthew Rhys.  On a beach.  At sunset.  Together.

Reciting poetry to each other.  In Welsh.

Seriously, I have hours of porn significantly less gay than this two-minute clip.  Those of you who knew about this and didn't tell me are now fired.  Unless you know where large amounts of Ioan/Matty RPS exist, in which case you will be rehired.

It's AMAZING how that "Welsh" beach looks like Venice, CA.

But Ioan Gruffudd? PRETTEEEEEEEEE!

LOL! I have to admit, once Ioan showed up, I wasn't really looking at the
beach. *g*

Wow. You know, that language is strangely beautiful - I just closed my eyes (no, seriously) and listened. :) Thanks for the link.

It is a really gorgeous language. I tried learning it a few years ago -- didn't get very far, but it feels lovely on the tongue.

O.o

Oh my, I might need a couple of minutes to remember how to breathe.

Have you seen them snuggle one another in Very Annie Mary? I must take a moment to smile whenever I think about the articles (almost to the point of interest and weight that we'd give Brad and Jennifer in the U.S.) when Matt and Ioan "broke up" and Ioan moved out here. (of course now Matty's out here, too, and going to Ioan's premieres)

Oh yes, they're just adorable in Very Annie Mary. And I love reading some of the articles about them -- still have fond memories of the big spread about their vacation together at an American dude ranch. Even they admitted what it looked like.

I kept expecting one of 'em to start in "O Elbereth, Gilthoniel." It really shows where Tolkien got his Elvish language.

And, yeah, it looks very gay, but not knowing what they're actually saying.. they might just as likely be saying, "ah, my gal's got the bounciest Welshcakes in Abergavenny." And the first poem... unless Allana Moore is a place in Wales, it sounds like a regular boy/girl love poem.

That's Ar Lan y Môr (By the Seaside). My Welsh isn't strong enough for poetry, but it talks about being by the sea with a lover. A girl is mentioned at the very end, wearing a yellow ribbon, but the rest of it could be attributed to any gender. Googling found me a full translation here.
