So tomorrow I'm heading up Massachusetts-way, because [livejournal.com profile] chelseafrew's mom's best friend has a Cape Cod beach house she's not using, and when one's best friend's mom's best friend offers you a free beach house in Hyannis, you go.

We went a few years ago and did a bit of poking around in the area, but nothing intensive. Anyone have anything we definitely shouldn't miss?

If you can get to Dennisport, I recommend the restaurant Clancy's (A Tavern for Ladies and Gentlemen). They have fantastic beer-battered fish and chips and their long island iced teas are awesome, too!

Oooh, you just named two of my favorite things! May have to check that out! Thanks!

They come in *pint* glasses! (The LIIT, not the fish.) And they'll only let you have two. *g*

And I'm not going to be the one driving! Woo hoo! *g*

The Lobster Hutt (two t's, like Jabba)--I think it's in Truro, but I'm not going to swear to that. Yum.

Wood's Hole is nice.

There are whale-watching trips from Provincetown that are lots of fun. I'd say it's definitely worth spending a day in Provincetown anyway.

Have fun! I'm jealous--I haven't been to the Cape in about 10 years.

I definitely want to try to make it to Provincetown this time. I mean to go every time I'm up there, but haven't made it yet!

Oh! In P-town there is (or used to be) a restaurant in the old post office. The walls still have the boxes in them.

aHA!

Oh, if you've never been there, definitely go! It's a cute little artsy town with lots of nice gay guys. And the beaches south of it are kind of cool--lots of sand dunes. It has a whole different feel from that southern coast by Hyannis.

Have you gone to Nantucket? That's fun too.

Nope, never been to Nantucket, though I've heard some slanderous rhymes about a gentleman who lives there! *g*

OMG, STALK THE KENNEDY COMPOUND.

Ahem. Sorry about that. I'm reading a Kennedy family biography right now, and I got a little carried away for a second. ;p

No real suggestions for you, though. Have fun! :)

LOL! You know, I had a big obsession with the Kennedys when I was in high school, so the one thing on my agenda the first time I went up there was to find the compound. Supposedly we're just down the beach from it, but damned if I can find it! I probably just have a kooky idea of what a compound is supposed to look like.
