So as those reading on LJ may notice, I went ahead with changing my LJ name. I've also changed my fannish email address -- you can reach me at corilannam (at) gmail.com. AIM is still just CoriLannam.

Also, I do have a Facebook account under this name, but I only use it for planting crops and whacking mobsters. My actual FB is under my real name; feel free to friend me there.

I have a Blackberry! Well, I borrowed a Blackberry from work for when I fly to Denver on Wednesday. Ostensibly it's so I can check my work email to keep track of a particular project. In reality, it's so that I can survive a week in my mother's house where there is no chance of internet (barring occasional trips to Panera).

I've only had it a couple of hours, but boy, I see why people crash cars with these. Definitely a far cry from my darling little Virgin pay-as-you-go $20 flip phone.

Once I stop trying to download AIM onto the Blackberry, I really have to get back to work on my reel_merlin. I have 9 more scenes and 10 more days.

I have reached the sex scene, which is pretty hot in my head, but which I'm strangely reluctant to commit to paper. Maybe it's because on my last reel_merlin story, nobody commented on anything but the sex scene.

But hark! Speaking of writerly neuroses, Diana Gabaldon has arrived to set me straight! I should just give up! Fan fiction is aesthetically unpleasant! And that particular kind of fan fiction? Some perv on the internet is probably masturbating to it. RIGHT NOW.

Actually, that thought has totally cheered me up. I'm gonna go write some smut with no redeeming aesthetic qualities whatsoever, brb.

Are you planning on cross-posting everything from now on? I'm trying to whittle down my LJ default view and read as much as possible at DW, so please let me know if I can shift you to DW without missing anything. Thanks!

Okay, that Gabaldon thing really pissed me off. Grrrr...

Yeah, it was rather mind boggling. I'm about halfway through her books, too -- I was enjoying them a lot, so I'm going to try to forget that the author is a dick before I start reading again.

I love her books and so I actually just CLOSE MY EYES to her opinions and enjoy what I enjoy. :D

I never knew anything about her opinions before this, but I'm sure it won't affect my reading of her work in the long run. She certainly isn't the first or last artist to be a bit of a jerk -- I'll just make sure I'm getting her books secondhand from now on. *g*

Yeah, the Gabaldon was equal parts lulzy and ragey for me. She's obviously new around here. I'd never even heard of her before.

That's really the hilarious part -- she's the furthest thing from new, either on the internet or as a pro writer. You would think she'd understand fandom a little better than that by now.
