Two nights and five hours worth of skating I taped, and very little worth saving.

But--

I finally, finally, FINALLY got to see Kurt's "Nyah" program. And God, the man is nothing but pure sex in motion. I am nothing but an awe-struck puddle on the floor. Poor Brian Boitano, having to follow that act. He never had a chance. Of course, the fact that he just stood around for half his number watching someone else dance (while Kurt kept skating with footwork and a triple toe after his music had stopped) probably didn't help him too much with the judges.

Going from awe to annoyance: Can I just say that I think it's really tacky for skaters to use numbers "dedicated to the rescue workers of 9/11" in competition? Not that a costume with NYPD and FDNY in red glitter on the front and back wouldn't be tacky in the best of times, but really. And the second people to so dedicate their performance did a rousing number to -- Dixie?? Oookay. Let's go back to Carmen, people. At least I could watch those programs with my eyes open.

Still, Kurt (and Rudy Galindo, with his Gay Parisienne number) made it not a complete waste of tape for once.
