I think I'm going to like being a TiVo owner.

After hitting friends?skip=5million, I think I'm finally caught up with livejournal. I took a weekend off from it without meaning to -- Saturday I was quite busy bonding with my new TiVo, and Sunday I ended up flattened by the sinus headache that wouldn't die (and still won't, actually, though it's much improved.)

TiVo is truly a beautiful thing. I fully understand why there is such a cult built up around it (and do you think it's a coincidence that the TiVo remote is shaped suspiciously like a popular brand of vibrator)? I have now set Season Passes for absolutely everything on television. There is nothing left that I will not be watching - or at least recording and storing until I decide I didn't need to see it that badly after all. When I forget what day it is, the TV I missed will be right there waiting for me. I now know about shows I didn't even know existed, but which I now find an urgent need to watch. Just fabulous.

And I can rewatch this week's Stargate over and over without even having to rewind a tape! My joy is boundless.

So tonight, I'll go see the Bourne Supremacy, and then I'll go home and see what my friend the TiVo taped for me during all these long hours when we had to be parted.

Ah, the first flush of love, I remember this!

Actually, I still feel the sheer giddiness of it every time I go on vacation and I don't have to set my VCR and triage what I can record and what I can't. Especially since I got a larger tivo -- although I suspect yours is larger than mine. *g* That big (mine is 32 hours, maybe?) and I think I'd just start hoarding in Bad Ways...

Oh, man, let me tell you how much more I am going to love my new baby when I go away for a week for VividCon! It's such a relief just thinking about not having to deal with the taping issues.

Mine is the 80 hour model, but that's 80 hours in the worst quality. I've been recording in Best or High, so I get maybe a third of that, but it's still more hours of television than any one person really needs. *g*

Our shiny new toy doesn't do the season pass thing, but it makes up for it with its other bells and whistles (or so deannie tells me). *g*

Yes, yours has some very nice advantages. *g* I'm still trying to figure out how to hook the TiVo up to my computer to get stuff onto DVD.

Which reminds me, did you guys in fact want DVD copies of Dark Angel? In talking with chelseafrew the other day, I realized you never actually said, so I didn't want to burn them if you didn't want them. *g*

Well, I was delaying answering until deannie answered my question. chelseafrew mentioned you burning them on DVD+Rs, and I wasn't sure that we had somewhere to play plus Rs. deannie assures me that our fancy machine can play those (it just records DVD-Rs).

SO, yes, please bring us yummy Michael Weatherly...um, I mean, Dark Angel discs. *g*
