Yuletide Glee
Nov. 10th, 2004 02:49 pmI could hardly be more thrilled with my assignment for
yuletide. Well, it's not the one that I had the best story idea for, but it's one I'd probably never get around to writing if not prompted, and it's truly rare. So overall, very happy.
And now someone out there is trying to make something of my little requests. If you're reading this: Hello, Santa! Here's a small letter for you:
Thank you for having the (questionably) excellent taste to offer up one of my fandoms. I hope that it's not too difficult a task. Be assured that I will be thrilled with whatever you give me -- my philosophy when doing these kinds of challenges it to write to please myself, because that's the only way I know to make a good story. So write to please yourself, and I will also be pleased.
Should you, however, be presently cursing my name because I gave you no guidance in my request notes, here are a few generalizations about my taste. I like both slash and gen, and while I tend to prefer the former, the latter is also lovely. Basically, I like relationship stories, whether there's a sexual element or not. Anything that focuses on the relationship between the characters and the development of that relationship. I like true love without schmoop, angst without despair, and humor without stupidity. I really like close-to-canon characterization. I like grammar and punctuation.
So basically, I'm pretty easy. Have fun!
Love,
Cori
P.S. In case you're doing the fandom where I listed three characters, please be assured that I didn't mean that I required a threesome of any sort. I mean, if you want to write a threesome, that's cool, too. But really I was just meaning any combination of those three characters. Which I can't remember if I put in the notes or not. But anyway, there you go. Thanks, Santa!
