The Trials of the Mildly Cranky

In the spirit of actually updating this thing --

* I have given up on my home computer. The thing has been cursed since I got it, and in two weeks it has gone from being a pain in the mikta to completely non-functional. The hard drive is bad, the memory is bad, the video card is bad, and Windows laughs uproariously at me every time I make a wistful attempt to boot it. Time to call Dell and find out just what exactly my warranty covers at this point. And if they're having any sales. Anyone know if there are any brands better than Dell these days? And don't say Mac, please.

And I thought naming this computer after Starbuck would be a good omen. I wasn't counting on second season.

* I haven't watched the Project Runway finale yet. Actually, I started to, once I gave up on my PC drama last night, because I didn't want to risk spoiling. But because I'm an idiot, I forgot that I had a) set the TiVo to record one of the later showings so it wouldn't conflict with anything else, and b) set it to start recording a minute early to be sure to get everything.

It got everything, all right. Specifically, it got the end of the previous showing, so as soon as I hit play, the first thing I saw was the winning model effusing about her spread in Elle. Alas, I remember which model goes with which designer. On the bright side, instant spoiling allowed me to immediately shut off the TV and go to sleep.

*Anyone else having a really awful sinus pain day?

* To counteract all the whining, let me say what a lovely work day this is turning out to be. After three days of hell getting ready for a big event, everyone in the office is now off at said event, leaving me in the quiet with my iPod and a much shorter To Do List.

And you know what that means - Supernatural rec lists, here I come! My goal for the day is to find as many stories as I can to put on the palm pilot so I can finally submerge myself in the fic. I'm splitting my time between the gen stories for my Sam and Dean fix and the RPS stories for my slash fix (I tried the Wincest, but I'm afraid it's just not going to happen for me in this fandom).

* Speaking of TV that's making me happy, how awesome was House this week? And how awesome is The Amazing Race so far this season? And how awesome was Without a Trace last week? And how awesome was Jon Stewart hosting the Oscars? And how hideously depressing is it that tomorrow is the finale of Battlestar Galactica?

*happy sigh* I've missed the internet.
