Dear Yuletide Writer (2008)

First of all, thank you so much in advance for my story! I am always very excited about yuletide, and I'm looking forward so much to reading whatever you come up with for one of my requests.
As for my requests, they are fairly simple and open-ended, and if you would like to just go wild and write something that inspires you, go for it. If you would like a bit more guidance on what I like, I present to you:
Okay, let's start with general issues. I like my fic well-written with good grammar and punctuation. I like the characters, whoever they are, to sound like themselves in canon. I like angst, I like fluff, I like plot, I love snappy dialogue. Smut is fine, but not at all necessary. I do not like death and despair (well, I do sometimes, but not for yuletide). Happy or at least hopeful endings work for me.
Now, to the specific requests--
Duran Duran -- on the very slim chance you're writing me Duran Duran, hurray! This is my current primary fandom, and I will be delighted with anything that has John and Simon in a romantic relationship (or even a very close friendship). I love having band/tour/rock star lifestyle stuff mixed in with the relationship.
Merlin -- I'm a little obsessed with Merlin right now, and I would be tremendously happy with anything you wrote. I really love the Merlin/Arthur dynamic - the snark, the push and pull, the slow development of friendship, the destiny thing. I would adore first time slash, but anything about them is great. Go wild. If you want to throw in some Lancelot, I would not object too strenuously.
Darkover -- This one is very dear to my heart. In many ways, Regis/Dani was my first slash pairing, though I didn't know what slash was when I first read The Heritage of Hastur (I just knew I liked it!) I've longed for fic for them for years, and I don't know why I never asked for it for yuletide before now. Anyway, I really just want something, anything about their relationship. I love everything about it. I would especially love something set in the early years, after they become lovers but while they're still in the first blush of figuring out their relationship.
So that's about it. I'm really quite easy to please, and if you love your story, I know I will, too!
