For those of you planning to get up early tomorrow to buy tickets to see Ewan McGregor in Guys and Dolls -- tickets are already on sale.  They weren't supposed to go on sale to the general public until tomorrow, but apparently ticketmaster.co.uk is excited as I am about this 'cause there they are!

Row B!  Center!

Ahem.  Anyway, so [livejournal.com profile] kris4n6 and [livejournal.com profile] chelseafrew and I are going to the evening show on September 10th.  Anyone else want to join us for the fangirl squeeing event of the year?

eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! (it'll be kinda like that, yeah)

Gah. The universe taunts me! It *wants* me to go to England.

Do you think the sits will sell very fast? It taunts me!

Curse you! I didn't need to know this! waaaaaaaaah.

Is Ewan going to be playing in *all* the representations?

It's hard to know how fast seats will sell. I suppose it depends on how fussy you are about where you're sitting, too. I wanted to be up front, so I bought fast, but I imagine you'll have a small amount of time to think about it, especially if you're not going to go during the summer peak. But they'll sell fast because of Ewan's name, so don't think too long!

And yeah, he's supposed to be in every performance, barring illness or injury or something.

Come! You know you want to! *g*

I *hate* you. I really do. *is checking airfaires for september on travelocity.ca* Okay, I don't hate you. *sobs*

I have three thousand dollars (canadians of course). If I can make a trip to London fit into that, I may be going. *sigh*

God, you listening? I *hate* you!

Will you be staying at Chez Smitty's again on this trip or have you found a cheap hotel?

If you have a hotel, I'd be very grateful to know of it. Hotels in London are expensive! Ouch.

That depends on how badly Smitty freaks out at the idea of having us all in her house again. *g* We may well be looking for a hotel! I'm not sure what's cheap these days ([livejournal.com profile] kris4n6 probably has a better idea than I do), but I know there's usually a few hotels that have good deals, especially in the off-season.

I'm definitely not getting my lj-notifications. *pokes livejournal*

I've decided to calm down (*drinks herbal tea*), and wonder about plane tickets and hotel rooms only in April. Well, I'm going to go this week by the student travel agency at my university to ask them when I should start planning, but I expect their answer will be "Come back in April".

If you find an incredible hotel at cheap rates, I'd love to hear about it. :)

Not having been to the UK before, how much might a trip like this cost? I'm prepared to ditch cons from my schedule in order to go to the UK and Ewan. :)

Well, the tickets to the play are 57 pounds (and I think we've got an exchange rate of about 1.8 dollars to the pound now, according to [livejournal.com profile] ndannais. Airfare is tricky -- it can be anywhere from $400-700 dollars that time of year, so it just depends on what kind of deals come along. I chose September deliberately because the airfares start to inch down right about then, after the summer peak fares (which are outrageous).

Then you just have to worry about lodging, food, and transportation, all of which can be had reasonably cheap if you're willing to be flexible and frugal. So all in all, it's more than a con, but not really all that much more than, say, a cross-country one. Which is why I'm ditching Escapade this year, because it would cost as much as London. *g*

Why, oh why, can't I live in England?

September 10? Can you stand the wait?

From: [identity profile] marzilla.livejournal.com
I don't think I can stand the wait, I really don't think I can. But I guess I have to!

These are definitely the days when living there would make life so much easier!

Yea! I got tickets for September 23rd, two days after my birthday. Also Row B, center!

I am so excited. I wish we could be there at the same time, but one of my travelling companions has to work the week you all will be there.

Counting the days...

Yeah, it's a shame we won't be there at the same time, but it'll be fun to compare notes afterwards. And you couldn't ask for a better birthday present!

*bounce* I can't wait!

Ummm, we would sorta like to be included in the mayhem, but we don't exactly want to just invite ourselves. Would we be welcome? Tickets are still available (yes, I checked!)...
