I frelling give in. DVDs of this for trade of Persuaders. Or did we already agree to trade something else?

dear gods, he's snarky.........

I think we agreed on those for the Cupid DVDs (plus Claudia on Stargate, if you still need that). But I'm happy to throw in House as a bonus. Free snark! *g*

Nope, I don't need Claudia on SG1 (and I can't tell you what I really think about that episode cause I almost got lynched the one time I tried to give it an independent review).

But, really???? Cupid and House?!?!?! For just Persuaders - which is, granted, the Gayest Show Evah, but still...........You'll have to come by and see if there's anything in my collection you may want.....(Wonder Woman? Planet of the Apes tv series?)

Nah, no lynching here. I thought it was hysterical, but I know plenty of people who didn't like it, and I'm not sure it'd be nearly as funny for someone not into the show. Still, Claudia + black catsuit = automatic A in my book.

And don't underestimate the power of the gayness of Persuaders! Even if House seriously gave it a run for its money last night. *g*

(Hm, Wonder Woman is a possibility)

See.....and I didn't think it was funny. Vaugely amusing in places. Loved the Jack/Daniel snark. Liked Hammond coming in and taking what he wanted right from under Jack's nose. Enjoyed Daniel's talking to himself/the bad guy. Enjoyed Claudia, of course.

(See, and this is where I'm hoping you protect me from the rabid SG1-ers. I admit I haven't thought this through, so there could be holes in my argument, but I don't want to be hurt for not thinking along party lines!)

Hated, hiccup girl and the (IMO) misogynistic slant of Claudia's character: she fought like a man, but she used her sexuality to confuse him. It felt very much like prostitution to me. And frankly, I thought the homophobic fear of mouth to mouth was completely insulting and offensive. And I get that it was supposed to be a throw-away scene, but it stuck in my head, and gave me a very bad taste in my mouth for the show as a whole.

But House? Now that was a thing of beauty.

But my poor little fannish head's gonna explode, cause of the Spider-Man love, which is only getting worse, and the BSG love, which is growing with each episode, and Lost, which isn't a fandom, but is must-see for me cause I enjoy the pretty (people and locations). And adding House? :: points to self :: Gonna die of the fannish.

See, I was going to leave this alone, but apparently I can't. I agree with everything you said here about the Claudia ep. What I objected to initially was something I thought you said, that you later indicated isn't at all what you meant. Also, I'm just pointing out that characterizing defenders of the faith as rabid is sure to engender annoyed feelings at the least.

It wasn't my very first episode ever (koff*second*koff), but I have to say, OMGTHEIRLOVEISSOMEDICAL!!!! And how can people watch this show and NOT think House and Wilson are totally doing it?

Do you think Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard are playing it that way on purpose? Because surely writers don't sit down, put that dialogue down on paper, and think, "Yeah, dude, that's totally something I as a straight man would say to my completely straight man friend."

"I won't see her if you don't want me to," indeed. :-D

'Or are we breaking up?' is *totally* something that straight men frequently say to other straight men. I mean, really.

I should know better than to post in LJ after I've had a fangirl squee. I sound like a twelve-year-old.

But yes. I watched that and thought, "My GOD. NO ONE says that! Not even STRAIGHT MEN TO STRAIGHT WOMEN!!!"

"I knew you'd be upset."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Wilson MARRIED? To someone (A) not House and (B) not this woman he met up with last night? And yet, he's not having this conversation with his WIFE...except that he SO IS.

It was... surreal. I haven't been smacked this hard with the gay since Lex and Clark and their sparkly pink Kryptonite of luuuuurve.

It really was hard to imagine any other connotations we were supposed to get from that episode. You just can't get away from the fact that House has it SO bad for Wilson (and vice versa!)

So, so married.

From: [identity profile] fanofall.livejournal.com
Seriously. What else are you supposed to think? If anyone has any suggestions as to how House and Wilson's conversation about the ex-girlfriend could be taken in any way OTHER than utterly utterly gay, I'd really appreciate it. (I just want to see if we can even come up with a different answer. They're totally doing it.)

I knew I'd seen a pimp somewhere! I'd love to see the show (haven't seen it at all yet) and will happily pay for time, tape, and postage. :D

Hee! And I *just* posted in your LJ with an offer. *g*

I'm happy to provide all the eps for you, no charge. Just e-mail me with your mailing address and whether you want DVD or VHS.

Pimping is fun. :-)

I'd like copies of the eps. I only started watching 3 eps ago, so anything before that would be great. Um. I don't think I have anything to trade, but let me know if you think I do (Cowboy Bebop?) and I can make you a tape.

Not that I really need another show... but dvd me, hon. I don't know what I have that you would like a copy of, but if you can think of something odd fandom wise you never know, I might have it. :)

I saw my first eps this weekend at Escapade (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh) and promptly read your story "Surcease" (which I adored), and, um, now I'm completely hooked.

I've never tried bit torrent and don't know if I can make it work, but am grateful that you just offered the link to old episodes, because now I really want to catch up on them. :-)

Yaaaaay! Hooked on House! [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh is such an effective pimp, isn't she? And thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed my story. :-):-)

Catching up is certainly a must, and bittorrent is the easiest way if you can manage it. But if for some reason you can't get it to work, let me know and I'll be happy to send you the episodes.

Hey, if you're not totally overwhelmed already with requests, I would be so grateful for DVDs or VHS tapes of House! (I have the technical capacity to bittorrent, but since my only computer is in a home office shared with my insanely-hardworking spouse, watching TV or vids or anything noisy on it is pretty much a no-go.) Comment back or e me at shoshanna at shoshanna dot ca; I don't know if there's anything I can offer you in return (beyond refunding costs, of course!), but if there's anything you might want, lemme know -- I have a lifetime supply of bad Blake's 7 zines ::g::

Sure! It's no problem at all. Just drop me an e-mail at corilannam at mieza dot net with your mailing address and I'll get them off to you in the next week or so.

I would be overjoyed if you could somehow hook me up with House DVDs (no torrent for me, alas) -- I don't really have anything to trade, but I could of course refund costs.

(I vaguely recall that you were in GoldenEye fandom at some point -- or at least your username looks familiar -- I'm also [livejournal.com profile] carmarthen, and I've no idea whther you know me.)

Hey Mel,

Yes, I remember you from GoldenEye, though I didn't know you had another identity. :-) I'm happy to send you House DVDs -- just drop me an e-mail with your mailing address to corilannam (at) mieza (dot) net and I'll start copying them for you!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! The link to the episodes isn't working! O.O I want last night episode!

*cries*

well, you don't know me...

...but I was hoping I could convince you to make me a DVD of House episodes. Bittorrent doesn't seem to be working for me (and since I'm at university it's probably just as well). I'd be happy to reimburse you for postage etc. Whaddaya think? :)

(Oh--and in case you're curious about how I got here, I was browing through your journal after reading Surcease, which, by the way, I loved. So, yeah! that's it.)
