Jun. 21st, 2005 11:06 amOh, happy day! I just found a file I thought I lost in the Great Triple Harddrive Crash Event of 2005. 17 pages of a story that I've been poking at off and on for almost four years, and I was utterly devastated when I thought it was gone. So so so so happy.
*backs up immediately in six different places*
In other news, I had a spate of semi-productivity last week and managed to post two stories in two days, which is very nearly unheard of in my universe, even though they were just tiny little things.
The first was a Without a Trace vignette, and can be found here.
elynross told me I should mention it here, and I always take good advice. Eventually.
The second one, however, will not ever be posted here, on account of it being something semi-naughty that might make a good half of my flist squick out, and I just don't want to deal with it. If you've been following along in my journal the last couple months, you can probably make a good guess as to the nature of it, and if you want to see it, you can let me know and I'll tell you where to find it.
Work has been crazy-making the last couple of weeks, and looks to be continuing that way this week, albeit without the edge of hysteria that had previously colored the office atmosphere. That's actually too bad, because hysteria tends to liven the tedium. At home I've been attempting organization, keeping on with the Battle of Too Much Junk in Too Little Space. Turns out ebay is good for making money as well as ridding oneself of it. Who knew? Also, furniture is expensive. And why does no one make vanity desks anymore?
Fannishly, I have:
--seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which rocked my socks right off.
--seen Batman Begins, which did not remove my socks, but only because Liam Neeson kept making my toes pleasantly curl.
--caught up with absolutely no TV, due to the Spurs being in the NBA Finals.
--archived off a bunch of TV to catch up on, on the assumption that someday the NBA Finals will be over.
--rewatched half of Firefly, in anticipation of Serenity on Thursday (eeee!)
Oh, and Naked!Darth Maul is still homeless. If no one rescues his hot, gauntleted bod, he's going in the trash tonight, in all his unclothed indignity.
ETA: *and* I just found my Stargate/TAR story, also presumed lost. What a wonderful day for the WIP guilt!
