Rating: NC-17
Wordcount: ~4,000
Pairing: Merlin/unicorn, implied Merlin/Arthur

Summary: Set immediately after episode 1.11. The unicorn has come back to life, but it still wants something from Merlin.

Notes: A very, very late entry to the Kinkspiration Round 1 Bestiality Challenge. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] marguerite_26 and [livejournal.com profile] novemberlite for hosting this awesome challenge and bringing more delicious kink to Merlin! Thank you to google for not questioning some extremely dubious search queries. And great thanks to [livejournal.com profile] anna_zee, who beta'd this (almost completely willingly!) and pronounced it "not gross or creepy or anything!"

That night, Merlin went to sleep happy and with a full belly for the first time since Arthur had decided it was a brilliant idea to shoot an innocent unicorn )

So I'm finally watching last week's Merlin. Yes, last week's.

A few notes as I watch on Merlin 4.09 - Lancelot du Lac )

Okay, on to this week's....
corilannam: (Merlin - pendragon)
Argh, so very late on this. And so very long.

Random note: it was really funny hearing John Hurt doing the opening credits VO this week after having just seen him playing...almost the same role in Immortals.

Spoilers for 4.07 - The Secret Sharer )

Power is mostly out. Cable and internet are out. Having to go to extreme (and very slow) technological measures to obtain Merlin.

My punishment for whining about slow download speeds last week.
corilannam: (Merlin - Bradley's fantasy)
OMFG DOWNLOAD FASTER.

FASTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Happy Halloween and happy Samhain! It's the last day of my favorite month and the day before my least favorite month begins, so I'm trying to make good use of it (i.e., catching up with online things).

* Today marks the third year in which I have failed to write my Merlin-can-get-pregnant-only-on-Samhain-and-Arthur-finds-this-verrrrrry-interesting story and the sixth year in which I have failed to write my Duran-filming-the-Nightboat-video-OMGZOMBIES story.

* Today is the day before my mom moves into her new place! Yay! Now I have to somehow find airfare I can afford to go out and help her get all her stuff out of storage and unpacked (preferably avoiding the weekend of Survivor Series, including Thanksgivinghahaha, and not using more than a week of vacation time).

* Today is also the last day I can put off writing because tomorrow starts NaNoWriMo. I kind of wanted to do something original this year, but nothing is quite gelled enough yet. But I am going to push myself to do the 1,667 or so words a day and catch up with some of the fic I've been letting slide. Who else is doing it this year?

* So I hear that at the Atlantic City concert this weekend, the boys came out in Halloween masks. Nick, of course, was a unicorn. And Simon was a bull -- and as confirmed on Twitter, John was a cow. So nice of them to dress to match in this as in everything else. *headdesk*

Okay, I know that's not really the title, but I don't remember what it actually was and I haven't read my flist yet and I'm so late on this because yesterday was my BFF's bday and I was fete'ing her into the wee hours and my thoughts are so teal this week that probably nobody's going to read it anyway.

And on that note....

When king is all there is to be )

Okay, off to read all of your reactions now and hope people aren't tired of discussing the ep yet. We should discuss Merlin all week, Y/Y?
corilannam: (DD - like bunnies)
* Got my [livejournal.com profile] merlin_holidays assignment! I'm very excited and have already started writing a bit, though I have a ton of research to do before I can get too far into the plot. But it's going to be fun, I hope.

* I'm also scribbling away at two fics for round 1 of [livejournal.com profile] marguerite_26 and [livejournal.com profile] novemberlite's Kinkspiration Challenge. Am sincerely hoping I don't somehow drop dead with this notebook open somewhere; would be harder to explain than usual.

* Duran Duran News! John Taylor is publishing his autobiography. It's due out next fall. Needless to say, I will be pre-ordering that shit.

John's description: “This book recounts the million tiny seductions that are required to make the journey from English suburbia to selling out Madison Square Garden—seductions that go by a hundred different names; family, friendship, romances, collaborations and strategic alliances. Here is my journey and where it took me; into fantastic success, more than a little decadence, darkness, and finally, I like to think, a little enlightenment.”

Maybe it'll finally push me to finish the last Questioning story.

Ahhhhh

That's in just half an hour!

Shoot, that means I only have half an hour to think of one...more...stupid...prompt. Help, what do I want to read???

Things that are making me happy:

1) Sports Night! -- I was catching up on Craig Ferguson episodes last night, and one of the guests from a week or so ago was Peter Krause. I had a wistful thought that it was a shame that there was no way he'd ever mention Sports Night so many years later. But then he told a random story about when he and Josh Charles flew to Vegas together and saw a Cirque du Soleil show.

2) The Emmys -- I generally consider the Emmys to be a load of BS in terms of actually honoring the best television programs, but occasionally they get it right (probably by accident). I was ecstatic to see Kyle Chandler win (as well as FNL winning for writing). I may have even cried a little. Nice to see some recognition, even at the eleventh hour, for the best show on television in recent years. I was also thrilled to see Melissa McCarthy win, because I like her and it's always awesome to see a woman of size get some positive recognition.

3) Bradley freaking James, the most delicious dork in the world.

4) DADT is officially history today! A Washington Post editorial called it "a massive victory for common sense and decency over bigotry and legalized discrimination," which pretty much sums it up.

Some interesting reading:
--The actual notice of the repeal sent to all Army personnel today
--Nation gives a collective shrug at end of DADT, mostly talking about reactions at the various military academies
--Closeted service member: DADT repeal makes no difference
--Post-'don't ask', gay Navy Lt. marries - this story's been going around a lot today, about the Navy lieutenant who married his partner at midnight, right as the repeal went into effect. They're from Tucson, which makes me extra happy.

5) Colin Morgan!

Things that are not making me happy:

1) I have tremendous, unshifting, boulder-like writer's block. I'm managing to write emails at work, but only barely. I want to finish some stories so badly I could cry, but the sight of an open Word doc makes me flinch away like a vampire who forgot their sunglasses. I haven't even been able to finish editing the rest of my pthon entries to repost. Argh.

2) Exercise. See above, only substitute "athletic shoe" for "open Word doc." Argh.

3) My mom's housing situation is still very much in limbo. She isn't talking about killing herself anymore, at least, which is happy-making. Nonetheless, I beat myself up constantly for not having gone into a career lucrative enough to be able to support her myself.

4) I had a 4th thing, but I can't remember it. This is probably a good thing!

My fandom is having a very good week indeed, at least if you're a slasher and like looking at well-built, half-naked men. Anyone? No?

It turns out that THE GAY TIMES agrees that Merlin is "RIDICULOUSLY HOMOEROTIC."

So they decided to go strip down Eoin Macken, Tom Hopper, and Rupert Young, photograph their glistening torsos, and interview them about how gay the show is. They even discuss slash fiction, and for once I didn't even mind because, well....

Have you not seen the slash fiction online?
Rupert: Oh I've heard of that yeah.
Tom: The what? The slash fiction? What's that?

It's when fans take two characters from a show and write fiction about them that's a bit more sexual...
Rupert: I've seen some of those. I've learnt some great moves from some [laughs]. It's weird there was one about me and my wife on our wedding night and the stuff I did. I was like: 'that's pretty good.'
Tom: You must have to search for that though, right? You google Rupert Young and like, I don't know, smut?
Rupert: I think so. I have to say I don't know what it was. Someone was forwarding it to me, genuinely.
Eoin: You've probably written some of it, haven't you?
Rupert: No, no, I don't know how to type.

They go on to talk vague spoilers about S4, how co-dependent all the knights are, and what hand they each had in "the coming of Arthur." And did I mention the photoshoot?

The only bad thing is that they didn't include Adetomiwa, whom I would very much like to see with his shirt off.

I am now feeling much more perky about S4. Whatever else happens, there will be hot knights. And now I finally know how to pronounce Eoin's name, so I can stop calling him "Gwaine" all the time!
