This just amused the hell out of me. It's the picture of Johnny Depp that was on my nightstand when I was twelve.

It's actually not my favorite picture of him that I had back then. There's another one I haven't been able to find online yet where he has his head down and is wearing a dark blue sweater and mmmmmmm.

Sadly, I'm still twelve.

ETA: And in my hunt for that other picture, I found several of Johnny and Peter DeLuise, which reminded me of my extended raptures over them and all the buddy-angst and buddy-tenderness back when I was, yes, twelve. I remember totally freaking over the ads for an episode where Peter was in jail for a crime he didn't commit and Johnny had to hurry and save him. And then my mother wouldn't let me watch it -- and to this day, I've never seen it -- but I imagined it in elaborate detail for weeks afterward.

Ah. Some of us start young.

Why wouldn't she let you watch it?

We had strict TV watching rules in my household growing up. I was never allowed to watch Jump Street, because it was on a school night. I usually could sneak out and watch it when my mother was in her room, but for some reason that night I couldn't. I've been bitter about it ever since. *g*

Confessions of JD Greybraid:

I had picture of Johnny Depp on my Dresser when I was, oh about, 34.

My friends were not big tv watchers and, when questioned, I told them it was a picture of Rupert Brooks, the Poet! I have to shake my head now. Why on earth did I care what they thought about a picture of Johnny Depp?

Well, now I have all of *you* and no explanations are necessary.

Just to be a pill: Elijah Wood and Sean Astin put me in mind of Johnny and Peter. Fragile porcelain beauty and the plain, heavyset protector.

Hasta,

Hee! Well, at least Johnny is very fashionable and cool now, so my continuing adolescent lusting after him doesn't excite too much comment. :-)

And hmmm... I hadn't thought of it, but I can see what you mean about Elijah/Sean vs. Johnny/Peter. I can't remember enough of what their character dynamic was like on the show, but the physical comparison certainly works! Maybe it got ingrained early on my subconsious, which would also explain my addiction to mangafied Qui/Obi... *g*
