Actually, I did like it much more the second time. Pretty much 100% more. Knowing what to expect helps a lot.
Honestly, I'm not that much of a purist. I thought that most of the changes PJ made from the books in FOTR were great, and actually improved the story. I just disagree with some of the decisions he made this time.
I like it. Eventually, I'm sure I'll love it. Just have to see it some more. Tough job, but I think I'm the woman for it.
