So, so, so, so very fantastically glad to be at work right now. Please note the date and timestamp on this post, because you may never see me saying that again. But I am just so happy to be where I have power, cold soda, and INTERNET ACCESS. Sadly, just about the only useful thing with power in my apartment right now is my alarm clock. Cold showers by candlelight just aren't nearly as romantic as you'd think, though it did give me yet another Hornblower plot bunny that'll never get written.

More severe thunderstorms in the DC area today. Sigh.

On a sidenote, I think that Jack probably cut out today's Non Sequitor and taped it up on Daniel's locker.

Hehehe. I saw that and thought the same thing. OC, Jack is the one who prides himself on his optimism and has even dubbed Daniel "Mr. Negative" so he prolly shouldn't gloat *too* much. But then, he wouldn't be Jack, would he?

The power outages are spread out over the area, and there are tons of trees down, etc. Pepco is now saying some people won't have power until Friday. Here's the article from the Post about the storm: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A50566-2003Aug26.html
